The Supreme Court’s 2008 ruling in Caperton v. A.T. Massey was the main focus of the Harvard Law Review’s Supreme Court forum this year. Held annually, the Supreme Court Forum focuses on the Law Review’s Supreme Court issue, which is published in November.

In The New Republic, Lessig warns against too much transparency

HLS Professor Lawrence Lessig’s article “Against Transparency: The perils of openness in government,” appeared in the October 9, 2009 issue of The New Republic. In addition to his professorship at the law school, he is director of Harvard University’s Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics, and the author most recently of “Remix: Making Art and Commerce Thrive in the Hybrid Economy” (Penguin). He is on the advisory board of the Sunlight Foundation and on the board of Maplight.org.

Scholars discuss fall-out of Google Book settlement, at Berkman Center conference on open libraries

Those were some of the questions discussed at a workshop entitled “Alternative Approaches to Open Digital Libraries in the Shadow of the Google Book Search Settlement,” which took place at Harvard Law School on July 31.
