The Lee and Li Foundation Fund for the Public Interest

This fund, established through the generosity of the Lee and Li Foundation, is intended to provide support for HLS students from any HLS degree program engaged in term time or summer public interest research or work pertaining to Taiwan, the People’s Republic of China or Hong Kong. The funding can be used to support Summer Public Interest Funding (SPIF)and other established Law School vehicles, or can be awarded for projects that may not fit into the contours of established HLS fellowship programs, but it is not intended to replace or supplement the Public Service Venture Fund fellowships. The activity may include writing a paper but it must concern public interest matters.

Applying

If applying for SPIF funding, follow normal SPIF procedures. If seeking support outside of established HLS fellowship programs, please send a description of the public interest work proposed, a CV, and a detailed and careful budget (including expenses and other funding sought or obtained) to Professor William Alford (alford@law.harvard.edu) at least two months in advance of the period for which funding is sought.

Students receiving this funding are required to write a short report regarding their work to be submitted within a month of the completion of their work for transmission to the donor.
