Kristin Muniz was a senior clinical instructor and trial team coach at CJI for ten years until she left HLS in 2017 to become the Attorney in Charge of the Roxbury Office and then the Boston Office of Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS).
To all who knew Kristin she was a kind and compassionate person and advocate. She was full of life and vitality, which makes her passing all the more heartbreaking and unexpected. We will miss her so very much.
The CJI family is trying to absorb this profound loss. Dehlia Umunna, Clinical Professor of Law, shared these words about Kristin:
Kristin exuded and enjoyed life! Her untimely passing is a gut-punch to the many students she taught and mentored, and to the numerous clients she zealously represented, and to the friends and colleagues, she fiercely loved. Everyone at CJI has so many fond memories of her kindness and thoughtfulness. We will miss her laughter, zest for life, wise counsel, friendship, generosity, and genuine ability to see the good in others. Kristin was our confidant, sounding board, and cheerleader. She was beloved by everyone who knew her!
To know Kristin was to know an incredible person – effervescent, tender-hearted, funny, and smart. You could always count on her support during tough times. She leaves a tremendous void in our hearts. Over the coming weeks and months, we will find ways to celebrate her stellar reputation as a person, attorney, mentor, teacher, mom, wife, and friend. We pledge to honor her extraordinary memory and legacy at CJI by how we live and practice. May God bless our beloved Kristin, and may her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
