I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling ’22 – as in, Fall Term 2022. If you are also looking ahead to the upcoming admissions cycle, read on to learn more about our anticipated dates and deadlines for the year.
For the last few years, we have released the cycle timeline on our blog (you can find last year’s post here). Our goal? To increase transparency and help applicants plan for the coming year.
Here is our expected timeline for the 2021–2022 regular J.D. application cycle:
September 15: J.D. Application Opens
Week of November 8: Interviews Begin
January 10: First Round of Acceptances
February 14: Second Round of Acceptances
March 1: J.D. Application Closes
March 21: Third Round of Acceptances
May 1: Deadline to Respond to Offer of Admission
Like last year, we expect to release our first batch of admissions decisions in January. We hope that alleviates the feeling that you have to rush to press submit the moment the application opens in September. Take the time you need to put together an application that reflects your strengths and vision for your law degree. That said, try not to wait until the last days before the deadline to send in your application. For more on timing your application right, check out this past podcast episode featuring me and my colleagues from Northwestern Pritzker and Yale.
As always, we will try to hold to this timeline, but we hope you understand if anything changes. If we end up shifting the dates above, we will be sure to let you know on this blog.
We look forward to reviewing your application soon.
