2019–2020 by the Numbers

Hard to believe that the Class of 2023 has already finished orientation and our 1Ls are getting ready to start classes tomorrow. It’s been an absolute pleasure to meet so many incredible applicants over the past year, and we are excited to see our incoming students begin their journey here at HLS. Now that it is September, we are turning our attention to the upcoming application cycle. But before we do, we took a moment to look back at 2019–2020 by the numbers, as we did last year:

• 7,505 applications
• 1,413 interviews
• 968 offers of admission
• 108 virtual events for admitted students
• 81 college campuses visited
• 29 law fairs, events, and on-campus information sessions
• 29 virtual information sessions for prospective students
• 10 admissions team members

. . . and 502 entering 1L students!

(Note that the application, interview, and offer numbers listed above include the Junior Deferral Program application cycle, even though those admitted students will matriculate with the Class of 2026).

As we shift our focus to the Class of 2024, we know this admissions cycle is going to look a bit different than in years past. We are pausing our usual recruitment travel for now, and will miss meeting prospective students in person. Nevertheless, we are pleased to offer a range of online events.
