HLS students are extremely engaged outside the classroom. More than 100 student organizations and journals provide opportunities for HLS students to connect with others who share their interests, to broaden their horizons, or just to have fun.
HLS has a campus of its own within the larger Harvard University campus. The Law School’s buildings include a number of dormitories that are available to law students who want the convenience of living on campus. The campus includes the law library, a student center, classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, a variety of study areas, and spaces for student groups.
A newly remodeled dining facility, comfortable student lounges, and two new outdoor plazas have become centers of activity where students gather for meals and between classes, or have a late-night snack. Hemenway Gymnasium provides law students with a convenient and ultra-modern fitness facility.
The richness of student life extends beyond the Harvard campus. HLS is located in one of America’s most livable and historic areas. Harvard Square is an energetic place with fine restaurants and cheap eats, bars and music, dozens of bookstores, street performers, and various specialty shops.
The Dean of Students Office offers significant support, programming, and resources for HLS students. Visit the DOS website for more information.
