OPIA invites current JD students at all class levels to participate in the Alumni Mentor Matching Program for the 2026–2027 academic year. The program connects students with experienced public interest attorneys who can share guidance, insights, and support as students navigate law school and explore public interest careers. To request a mentor, fill out the registration form, letting us know of your interests and career goals.
Sign-ups for advising appointments with public interest attorney mentors visiting through the Wasserstein Fellows Program are now available! All students can take advantage of this remarkable opportunity to receive guidance from current practitioners in a wide variety of fields.

The 2026-27 DOJ Honors and SLIP application window has opened and will close at 11:59 pm on September 8th. Note that this year’s application is on a new platform. While most aspects of the application remain the same as in past years, there may be some small differences, and due to the short application window, we don’t have time to fully update our online Guide to reflect the new platform. You may still find useful information in our Guide, but you should also be sure to consult DOJ’s application tips, and always defer to DOJ’s advice when there are any inconsistencies.
The Equal Justice Works Career Fair is the largest public interest legal career fair in the country, bringing together more than 250 public interest employers and over 2,500 law students and recent graduates for prescheduled interviews. The 2026 Equal Justice Works Career Fair will be held virtually from October 8-9. Registration is now open!
Bidding for the fall Massachusetts Law School Consortium (MLSC) Government and Public Interest Interview Program is now open and closes on Wednesday, September 9, at 12 p.m. ET.
