The Guinier Project at Harvard Law School’s Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice is conducting research on the links between climate change, electoral institutions, and political representation. The Institute is seeking to hire a graduate research assistant with expertise in social epidemiology, population health, climate science, eco-social theory or related fields.
The researcher will conduct a literature review on 1) the impact of climate events and natural disasters on political participation, electoral administration, and electoral representation, specifically the representation of marginalized groups, and 2) how different electoral systems condition the implementation of climate mitigation policies, the impact of environmental justice movements, environmental and public health outcomes, and solutions to environmental injustice.
