Overview:
I am seeking a Research Assistant with a legal degree and professional legal experience from the European Union to assist with legal research and writing. This project involves preparing 2–4 concise research memos on topics related to EU data protection law and digital governance.
Estimated Hours: 30–40 hours total
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct legal research and provide concise analyses on topics related to EU law, particularly data protection and digital governance.
• Draft clear and well-organized research memos.
• Deliver work in a timely and professional manner, meeting deadlines and adhering to high academic standards.
Qualifications:
• A legal degree (e.g., JD, LLM, or equivalent) and legal education or professional experience in the European Union.
• Strong understanding of EU data protection law and familiarity with related regulatory frameworks such as the GDPR, DSA, and DMA.
• Excellent research and writing skills, with a proven ability to produce concise, high-quality legal analysis.
Preferred Knowledge Areas (not exhaustive):
• Data protection and privacy laws, including universal opt-out mechanisms and Global Privacy Controls.
• Advanced encryption methods such as homomorphic encryption and their regulatory status.
• Researcher access to platform data under EU laws like the DSA/DMA.
• Copyright or proprietary protections harmonized with data access/export rights.
