Format

In conjunction with virtual interviews and resume collection, you will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from public interest organizations during virtual employer chats, most of which will take place January 13th-16th. These 1-hour sessions, broken into two 30-minute slots each, are designed to allow you to connect directly with employers and learn more about their work.

Some organizations that have registered for employer chats are not recruiting for positions through V-SIP, but have signed up as a way to connect and share more information about their organization and, potentially, future opportunities. Every employer chat represents an opportunity to network with attorneys in fields of interest and broaden your thinking about public interest work.

Employer chats are meant to be informal conversations, without formal presentations or slides. Each 30-minute slot will include up to 10 students. Come prepared with questions!

Registration

  • You will have until January 12th at 11:59 p.m. ET to register for virtual employer chats. After the deadline, organizations will receive their lists of confirmed registrants.
  • You are not limited to a particular amount of employer chats, and can absolutely sign up for more than one. However, the system will not permit you to sign up for employer chats with overlapping schedules.
  • Before registering, please be mindful of any scheduling constraints you may have. When you sign up for an employer chat, you are committing to taking that slot. As employers will have lists of registered attendees, they will also be aware of no-shows. If you absolutely cannot attend a chat for which you’ve registered, contact Micah Nemiroff at mnemiroff@law.harvard.edu as soon as possible.
  • If a particular session is full, contact Micah Nemiroff about alternative ways to connect with an employer.
