As a program geared towards training our students to become ethical and compassionate lawyers who will make a positive impact on society, our Clinics and Student Practice Organizations (SPOs) provide opportunities for students to not only hone their legal skills but to also work on real-world cases that have an immediate impact on individuals and communities. This award is presented annually to a student who demonstrates outstanding expertise in representation and policy reform initiatives and shows a clear capacity for thoughtfulness and empathy in their practice.

The award’s recipient is a member of the J.D. class who has displayed an outstanding commitment to improving and delivering high quality volunteer legal services to disadvantaged communities.
