The ACLU of Louisiana seeks students to work on a potential impact litigation case involving state statutes that ban sex workers and that have been used against Black transgender sex workers.   Students will engage in identifying/framing legal issues, conducting factual and legal research, assisting to identify prospective/lead clients and drafting the complaint.    Students may work remotely.  However, if students are located in New Orleans, during fall term, and the office is open for business, in compliance with CDC guidelines, students may spend time in the office, as appropriate.

Interested students may earn clinical credits for their work on this project through OCP’s independent clinical work program. Please consult  the information provided in this link: https://hls.harvard.edu/dept/clinical/clinics/independent-clinical-work-program/ for deadlines and application process.

Please email Liz Solar at  esolar@law.harvard.edu with questions about the project or the independent clinical program.

Please see the ACLU Louisiana Externship Posting for more details.
