Interested in writing an opinion column for The Harvard Crimson?

Applications are now open for the spring semester and are due January 15th at 5pm.

What it entails:

– 6-7 installments throughout the semester.

– Each piece is 650-800 words.

– The column centers on an argumentative, Harvard-related unifying theme. These themes can be fairly broad, so long as they offer a fresh perspective.

See here for an example of an opinion column.

Why you should do it:

– At a moment when Harvard is in the limelight, you have the opportunity to shape national discourse.

– Gives you an opportunity to share your takes with your fellow students, the wider Harvard community, and many readers beyond. Our columns receive thousands of views.

– Allows you to dive deeply into a complex, timely topic that you are passionate about.
