| November 12, 2024 | Housing portal opens at 9am for spring room selection. |
| November 30, 2024 | Last day for new applicants to make a spring room selection. All reservations are final at 11:59pm. |
| December 20, 2024 before noontime | Fall Semester Move Out This applies to ILS fall only exchange students, off-cycle graduates and students participating in the Semester in Washington Clinic starting in winter semester. |

| April 1, 2025 | Housing application opens at 9am (EDT) for students currently in HLS Housing who would like to return for the next academic year. AKA in-room returners. |
| April 7, 2025 | Housing application closes for in-room returners at 11:59pm (EDT). |
| April 9, 2025 | Lottery timeslot assignment is announced for in-room returners by 5pm (EDT). |
| April 10, 2025 | Housing portal opens at 9am (EDT) for in-room returners room selection and room swap. |
| May 2, 2025 | Housing application opens at 9am (EDT) for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students. |
| May 7, 2025 | Housing application closes at 11:59pm (EDT) for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students. |
| May 9, 2025 | Lottery assignment timeslot is announced for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students by 5pm (EDT). |
| May 12, 2025 | Housing portal opens at 9am (EDT) for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students room selection and room swap. |
| May 19, 2025 before noontime | MOVE OUT FOR ALL 1Ls and 2Ls. |
| June 1, 2025 | Housing application and portal opens for all late applicants, recently admitted J.D.s and off-campus returning students at 9am (EDT). |
| June 2, 2025 before noontime | MOVE OUT FOR ALL GRADUATING & S.J.D. STUDENTS NO EXCEPTIONS. |
| June 15, 2025 | Last day for reservation room swap. All reservations are final at 11:59pm (EDT). Last day to cancel a reservation without penalty fees. |
| June 16, 2025 (onward) | Room cancellation fees apply on Resident Hall reservations. Read cancellation policy for HLS Apartments. |
| June (TBD) | Housing application opens for Admitted S.J.D.s |
| July (TBD) | Housing application opens for transfer students. |
| July 16, 2025 (onward) | Room cancellation fees apply on Resident Hall reservations. Read cancellation policy for HLS Apartments. |
All Move In/Out Dates are Firm
Please be aware all dates including housing move-in and move-out dates are firm and cannot be changed. These dates are set based on various factors, including orientation, the start of classes, reading/exam periods and commencement.
Plan your campus arrival and departure accordingly. Students cannot move in earlier than the dates provided however, they can move in on a later date. If you must arrive early in Cambridge or need additional time in Cambridge after your move out date, please check the links below.
