Alexander Walker III is the second Rappaport Fellow and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. His research focuses on language and the law, applying linguistics, social science, and philosophy to legal questions.

His current projects include testing the quality of private transcription services (algorithmic and human) on English dialects, formulaitng a preference-based model of the law influenced by Optimality Theory, and investigating the use of A.I. in the law. He has work forthcoming in the California Law Review.

In addition to legal research, Alex conducts research in linguistics as well as advocacy and research at the intersection of law and neuroscience with the Center for Law, Brain & Behavior at Massachusetts General Hospital where he is a Fellow in Law and Applied Neuroscience.
