What do I do if....?

  • I am sick

    1. If you are sick before an exam, DO NOT START YOUR EXAM.  Go to UHS, and contact the Dean of Students Office right away to let them know that you won’t be taking the exam as scheduled.
    2. If you become ill during an in-class exam, alert the proctor right away.  You will be able to pause your exam to consult with UHS.  Follow up with DOS after for instructions on completing your exam.
    3. If you become ill during a takehome exam, STOP  and alert the Dean of Students Office Immediately.  Visit UHS, and follow-up with DOS after for instructions on completing your exam.

  • I have a personal emergency

    Contact Lakshmi Clark-McClendon in the Dean of Students Office to discuss options.  DOS instructions and contact information can be found here.

  • My Computer Froze or Malfunctioned during my exam

    1. If you experience computer issues during an In-Class exam, alert the proctor immediately.  You will be given assistance to re-access and continue your exam.
    2. If you experience computer issues while taking a Takehome exam during regular business hours, call the Registrar’s Office IMMEDIATELY  at 495-4612 before taking any other action.  Your exam clock will be paused while your issue is addressed.
    3. If you experience computer issues while taking a Takehome exam during weekends or late evenings, email the Registrar’s Office to document the issue.  If you are able to resolve the issue, email the Registrar’s Office again once you are ready resume your exam.  You may refer to the Exam4 Recovery Procedures.
  • I don't see my takehome questions

    Takehome questions do not immediately appear in the Exam4 software.  They must be downloaded from the Exam4 website.  Your exam clock begins once you download the questions.

  • I can't submit my takehome exam

    1. If you are unable to submit your exam through Exam4 during business hours, call the Registrar’s Office IMMEDIATELY.  You will be provided assistance with submittal.
    2. If you are unable to submit your exam through Exam4 during late evening or weekend hours, save a local copy by choosing “save as”, and email that file to registrar@law.harvard.edu.
