Eviction Defense Collaborative
San Francisco, CA
Before law school, Joey was a union organizer in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he successfully unionized medical workers and adjunct professors. While at Harvard Law, he was a member of the founding board of the Harvard Street Justice Coalition, which works with unhoused residents of Cambridge who are accused of crimes, providing them defense support and other services. He also volunteered at Y2Y, Harvard’s shelter for unhoused youth, took cases for the Prison Legal Assistance Project, and was the Editor-in-Chief of Unbound: Harvard Journal of the Legal Left. Housing is a human right, and Joey is very excited to put that conviction into practice at the Eviction Defense Collaborative.
