The Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, the Harvard Disabled Law Students Association, Harvard Law School Project on Disability, and the Equal Democracy Project at HLS are co-hosting a lunch panel event on disability rights and access to the ballot on October 31, 2024. The event will feature Tatum A. Pritchard, Director of Litigation at the Disability Law Center; Rebecca Williford, President & CEO of Disability Rights Advocates; and Elizabeth Westfall, Deputy Chief of the DOJ Civil Rights Division, Disability Rights Section. During the 2020 election, over 11% of voters with disabilities reported they faced challenges casting a ballot. Attacks on voting rights place the biggest burden on people of color and people with disabilities. Panelists will discuss their voting advocacy work to ensure accessibility and prevent barriers to voting for people with disabilities. Panelists engage in a spectrum of advocacy work to fight for civic inclusion of people with disabilities including litigation, monitoring, and public education. Professor Michael Stein, co-founder and Executive Director of the Harvard Law School Project on Disability, will moderate the event.
Lunch Provided. See here for more.
