The Food Law and Policy Clinic is looking for somebody to help research several topics related to the federal government’s pending rescheduling of cannabis. Specific research questions include: How might FDA’s regulatory framework apply to existing state cannabis laws? How might the federal government regulate the production of cannabis? How might FDA regulate food and drinks that include cannabis?

Some familiarity with existing cannabis regulatory schemes is preferred although not required. Similarly, those who are familiar with existing FDA regulatory structures (e.g. licensed providers, food safety/labeling) and USDA regulatory structures (e.g. hemp production) are encouraged to apply.

If interested, please submit a brief paragraph expressing your interest along with a resume or statement of relevant work experience to Trevor Findley at tfindley@law.harvard.edu. The time commitment will be roughly 5-15 hours per week throughout the semester, with check-in meetings likely to occur every other week.
