The Harvard Journal on Legislation (JOL) is currently accepting submissions for our Winter print edition (Vol. 64.1). Submissions should be 10,000-15,000 words (including footnotes). Please email submissions in Word and PDF format to hlsjol@mail.law.harvard.edu with the subject line [Last name, First name, JOL Student Note]. The deadline to submit is 11:59 pm on May 27, 2026.
As a bipartisan journal, JOL is open to submissions from any political perspective. Our only requirement is that the note be legislative in nature. We invite submissions on a wide range of topics, including law, policy, politics, and history, as long as the subject matter will be of interest to policymakers.
