Professor Intisar Rabb is seeking student research assistants for Fall 2026. There are three projects: (1) general research, (2) work involving AI and data science, (2) and editorial work on the Journal of Islamic Law. Students meet weekly on these projects as a part of the SHARIAsource Lab, part of the Harvard Program in Islamic Law’s initiative to leverage AI and data science tools to aid the study of Islamic law and history. Various tasks allow students opportunities to conduct research, prepare data, and/or perform text analysis on materials related to Islamic law with the use of data science tools. Knowledge of Arabic and/or Persian is a plus but not required.
