Professor Richard Lazarus will be teaching two first year sections of Torts this coming fall and is interested in hiring Teaching Fellows for each of those two sections.

  • 3-4 paragraph description of your interest in serving as a Torts TF and of why you think you would be an excellent TF (as a separate WORD document and not in the text of the email). Include in the document which Torts casebook you used in your own Torts class and the name of your Torts professor; and whether your fall course schedule will allow you to attend Torts class at least one day a week and, if yes, then which day(s).  One section will meet M/T/W from 10:20 am – 11:40 am and the other section will meet M/T/W from 1:30 pm – 2:50 pm.

TF principal responsibilities will be:

  • Attending at least one class (the same) every week during which you will assist me, when needed, in setting up the class at the outset, and keep track of student participation during the class
  • Holding office hours on a weekly basis (in person preferred and by zoom in the alternative) and answering student questions about the course material
  • Monitoring and responding to student discussion posts on the Torts Canvas site, and alerting me to especially interesting posts that I may want to fold into class discussion the next day
  • General support of the class
