The academic work of the Harvard Law School faculty is downloaded from the online database of the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) more frequently than that of any other law school faculty, according to the popular law blog, Brian Leiter’s Law School Reports. Works by HLS faculty were downloaded 107,591 times during the period studied for the survey.
Scholarship by Professor Lucian Bebchuk LL.M. ’80 S.J.D. ’84 was downloaded more times (23,416) than the work of any other law author. Professor Cass Sunstein and Vivek Wadhwa, a senior research associate at the HLS Labor and Worklife Program, were ranked fourth and seventh overall, respectively, with 12,413 and 9,050 downloads. Professor Allen Ferrell was ranked 14th with 6,572 downloads.
SSRN composed of a number of specialized networks in each of the social sciences that disseminate research papers worldwide. Bebchuk recently founded the Corporate Governance network, which is comprised of 21 subject matter eJournals.
