“Many of the most grave threats from terrorism involve environmental risks, ranging from toxic chemical releases to anthrax exposures,” said Viscusi, the John F. Cogan professor of law. “Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to eliminate all risks in all locales. I look forward to working with EPA to explore how society’s resources can be targeted to provide as much protection as possible from the risks of terrorism.”

Viscusi joined the Harvard Law faculty in 1995 and also serves as the Director of the Program on Empirical Legal Studies. For more information about the committee, please refer to the EPA Science Advisory’s website.
