The Institute for Global Law and Policy (IGLP) at Harvard Law School announced today that the Qatar Foundation has become a leading sponsor of the IGLP and will support a broad ranging research and faculty development program at the Institute.
The IGLP is a collaborative faculty effort to nurture new innovative approaches to international legal and institutional arrangements, with a focus on issues of political economy, transnational regulation and economic development.
The collaboration with the Qatar Foundation will strengthen the IGLP’s pedagogic and research mission to foster innovation and policy dialogue about the structure and potential for global governance affecting pressing issues of global policy.
Each year, the IGLP will convene young scholars of law and policy from across the world for an intensive residential workshop in Qatar. The conversations with global peers and opportunities for intense research collaboration will strengthen young faculty within the Arab and Islamic worlds and deepen scholarly networks for all participants by placing them in conversation with global peers and offering opportunities for intense research collaboration.

Our own faculty development initiative to be launched this year will become a strong component in that broader effort and strengthen education in law and policy both in Qatar and the Arab region and beyond.
