Human Rights Journal hosts conference on UN reform

This weekend, HLS’s Human Rights Journal will host its annual conference, which will focus on UN reform and human rights. The event is particularly timely given that, this year, the UN is slated to undergo the biggest reforms since its creation. The event will take place on February 25, 2006 in Pound Hall on the HLS campus.

“Fundamental restructuring of the UN’s operational work is currently taking place,” said conference organizers Tanya Goldman and Alina Zagaytova. “The Harvard Human Rights Journal is excited to bring leading academics and experts, including practitioners from the United Nations, human rights and NGO community, and the Bush administration to discuss the impacts of current UN Reforms on Human Rights and debate the structuring of these reforms.”
