Carrie Fletcher has been appointed as the new executive director of Harvard Law School Executive Education, where she works with faculty and an administrative team to develop leadership programs that serve law firm managing partners, emerging law firm leaders, and general counsel from across the globe.
Before joining HLS Executive Education, Fletcher was the executive director of law programs at the Fullbridge Program, where she designed curricula focused on professional and business skills development and managed ongoing and new client relationships. Prior to her time at Fullbridge, Fletcher spent 18 years in both practicing and business-side roles at large law firms. From 2007 to 2013, she was a member of the Professional Development & Training team at Goodwin Procter, where she created and implemented programming for partners and associates that focused on leadership development, core professional skills instruction, and substantive legal skills training. She also practiced complex commercial and soft intellectual property litigation from 1996 to 2007, initially in Chicago, and then at Foley & Lardner’s Boston office for the last nine years of that period.
Fletcher received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Harvard Law School Executive Education offers high quality executive education programs oriented towards legal practitioners, both in open enrollment programs (such as the flagship Leadership in Law Firms program targeted to law firm leaders, the unique Leadership in Corporate Counsel program targeted to chief legal officers, and the innovative Emerging Leaders in Law Firms program targeted to emerging law firm leaders) and focused programs, including the path-breaking Milbank@Harvard program.
By studying a cross-section of professional service organizations in sessions facilitated by Harvard faculty, participants address the unique challenges of leading their organizations, and develop perspectives and skills to be more effective leaders. Through these executive education programs and colloquia and alumni groups, HLSEE nurtures close contact and interaction between practitioners and HLS faculty.
