Five Harvard Law School alumni are among the National Law Journal’s inaugural list of the 20 Most Influential General Counsel.

The HLS alumni who are included on the prestigious list are: Brackett Denniston ’73, General Counsel for General Electric; Barry Nagler ’81, General Counsel of Hasbro; James Potter ’82, General Counsel at Del Monte Foods; Deirdre Stanley ’89, General Counsel for Thomson Reuters; and Laura Stein ’87, General Counsel at Clorox.

The attorneys recognized were chosen for their innovation, strong management skills, and creativity in the face of the current recession. “[T]he attorneys listed here clearly represent forward-thinking general counsel in charge of legal departments for major companies,” wrote the NLJ. “And at a time of economic uncertainty, these lawyers represent ingenuity and steady leadership.”

The National Law Journal is a weekly publication dedicated to covering current events in the legal community.
