Alma Cohen, William K. Jacobs Visiting Professor of Law and Economics at Harvard Law School, has won the 2011 Robert C. Witt Award from the American Risk and Insurance Association.  The Robert C. Witt award is given annually for the best article published during the year in the association’s “Journal of Risk and Insurance.” A list of past winners of this award, which was first granted in 1987, is available here.

Cohen and her co-author, Peter Siegelman, were selected for their article “Testing for Adverse Selection in Insurance Markets.” The paper, which was issued earlier as a discussion paper of the HLS John M. Olin Center, was published in the journal’s March 2010 issue.

The award will be presented at the Association’s annual conference taking place in August, in San Diego.
