Our generation had its share of prospectors, people who relentlessly searched: for love, for family, for community and for a voice in our world. My friend of fifty years, Al Gordon, (HLS ’69) passed away in late September. He always had a voice: the gift of song, and of bringing people together with it. He quickly found a calling, and it was not the law, but building with his hands. For years he searched for the rest and eventually found the mother lode, a truly beautiful love with Kathie Fiveash (Radcliffe ’69), her wonderful family, and a community on Isle a Haut in Maine. He could not have been happier for the last twenty years. He passed away with a satisfied mind, knowing he had it all in spades for a wonderful stretch of time. He will be sorely missed and gladly remembered.
