Inter-American Court of Human Rights

Diego is a human rights advocate and an LLM ’24 graduate from Harvard Law School. They will join the Executive Secretariat of the Inter‐American Court of Human Rights, based in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Diego has previously represented victims in the Inter‐American Human Rights System in four cases involving discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE) with NGOs such as Demus – Estudio Para la Defensa de los Derechos de la Mujer. They have also worked in international advocacy with the United Nations at the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA World) and the Global Interfaith Network for People of All Sexes, Sexual Orientations, Gender Identities and Expressions (GIN‐SSOGIE).

At Harvard Law School, Diego participated in the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic and led a project with the HLS Advocates for Human Rights.
