Courtney Dougherty will serve as a fellow for Democracy Forward. Her fellowship will include participating on impact litigation projects addressing unlawful government action across issue areas such as labor protections, civil rights, and education. During her time at HLS, Courtney has worked extensively on LGBTQ rights issues. She served as the co-President for HLS Lambda, as well as on the board for the Alliance for Reproductive Justice. She also participated in the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic as an extern with the GLBT Legal Advocates and Defenders in Boston and on the Health Law and Policy Clinic’s transgender healthcare project. Courtney spent her summers interning with the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association and Gender Justice. Originally from Philadelphia, Courtney holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.
