Grainne Dunne will spend her fellowship year at the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maine. While at HLS, Grainne participated in the Criminal Justice Institute where she represented indigent clients at all stages of their criminal cases. She also worked at Greater Boston Legal Services, assisting clients in preparing their applications for asylum as part of the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic, and served as an Executive Content Editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender. Grainne spent her 1L summer at Southern Center for Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia and her 2L summer in the Appellate Division of the Vermont Office of the Defender General. Grainne received her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College in 2011. Prior to law school, Grainne spent four years working on state and national policy changes to end mass incarceration, first with the ACLU of Maine and then with the Brennan Center for Justice.
