Elise Baranouski will be working at the MacArthur Justice Center’s Supreme Court & Appellate Program in Washington, D.C., where she will focus on using appellate litigation to challenge systemic injustice in the criminal legal system and achieve justice for victims of police violence. During her time at Harvard Law School, Elise was involved in the International Human Rights Clinic, the Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, the Prison Legal Assistance Project, and Advocates for Human Rights. Elise spent her summers interning at Reprieve, the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser, and the MacArthur Justice Center. Prior to law school, Elise received a B.A. in Government from Harvard College and advocated for the release of individuals incarcerated for their political views.
