Decker served as a United States Attorney, and as such was the chief federal law enforcement officer in the Central District of California, a sprawling district based in Los Angeles that encompasses seven counties. Ms. Decker oversaw the largest United States Attorney’s Office outside of the District of Columbia, an office that employs approximately 280 attorneys who serve almost 20 million residents. Judge Keith Ellison, U.S. District Court Judge in Houston, Texas has a clerkship opening for the 2019-2020 term. The new clerkship position was granted because of a series of high-profile and complex cases involving conditions in Texas state prisons. The new clerk may work on these cases, and should note any relevant experience in civil rights and/or prisoner rights litigation. Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, transcript, three references and a writing sample via OSCAR or to arturo_rivera@txs.uscourts.gov. Letters of recommendation are not required.
