Greater Birmingham Alliance to Stop Pollution (GASP)

Mary Claire Kelly is a Climate Justice Fellow with GASP (Greater Birmingham Alliance to Stop Pollution) in Birmingham, Alabama. She is helping to promote environmental justice in the state of Alabama through research and watchdog initiatives, and to develop climate justice policies on the local and state level. Between graduating from Emory University in 2014 and entering Harvard Law School, she worked as a journalist in local Atlanta public media, a researcher for the Georgia Civil Rights Cold Cases Project at Emory, and a digital media associate at the Southern Poverty Law Center. At HLS, she was co-chair of the Mississippi Delta Project, community outreach director for the Environmental Law Society, and member of the Harvard Immigration Project. She is an avid amateur seamstress, crossword puzzler, and banjo beginner.
