Phillips Black

Elie Kirshner will spend his fellowship year with Phillips Black in Philadelphia, collaborating with formerly incarcerated individuals to represent wrongfully convicted people who are challenging their unjust sentences. During his time in law school, Elie represented clients through the Capital Punishment Clinic and the Child Advocacy Clinic. He also served on the board of the Prison Legal Assistance Project. Elie spent his summers at the Veteran Advocacy Project in New York City and the Capital Habeas Unit in Philadelphia. He graduated Cornell University with a B.A. in Government.
