The Office of Career Services (OCS) offers numerous ways to connect with HLS students including OCS hosted events, podcasts, and programming. Harvard Law School’s Student Organizations are very active and host many employer events as well.

Student Engagement Opportunities

  • In-person Coffee Chats

    Employers are invited to send representatives to speak with students in a casual, drop-in setting. Coffee chats will take place in-person at Harvard Law School from 11:30am – 1:30 pm and 2:30pm – 4:30pm ET daily. The registration fee is $750.  

  • Law Firm Kickoff Reception: Practice Areas

    Wednesday, September 30th 5:30pm – 7:30pm ET, at Harvard Law School’s Milstein Conference Center. The event space will feature practice-area “stations,” allowing students to network with and move between groups over the course of the evening. The sponsorship fee is $2500. 

  • Firm Fair

    Wednesday, October 14th 5pm – 8pm ET, at Harvard Law School’s Milstein Conference Center. Our popular annual 1L Firm Fair attracts the entire 1L class and is a great way to get to know our students. Each firm may have 2 representatives at their table at a time, but representatives are welcome to rotate out throughout the evening. The sponsorship fee is $2000.

  • Last Call Reception

    Wednesday, November 18th, 6:00pm – 8:30pm ET, at Harvard Law School’s Milstein Conference Center. This event brings the 1L class together to wrap up the fall semester’s activities before students enter the final exam period. This is a large format reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and plenty of opportunity for conversations. The sponsorship fee is $2500. 

  • Off-Campus Receptions

    OCS facilitates date assignments for off-campus firms–hosted receptions to ensure that no more than two firms host a reception on the same evening. Dates are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The Office of Career Services (OCS) will publicize these receptions throughout campus and in our weekly newsletter.

EIP Connections

EIP Connections is a new pilot program exclusively for employers participating in our January 2027 EIP. EIP Connections is an OCS-facilitated informational interview program designed to help students make informed EIP bidding choices and to help employers build meaningful connections with our 1L class. Employers will have access to structured, small group conversations with 2 – 4 students that express specific interest in your firm. Meetings are 30 minutes, virtual, and outside of class time. All Connections meetings will be completed prior to the start of EIP bidding.

Podcasts

The OCS website includes recorded podcasts from law firms and other legal employers for students to download. These instructional podcasts feature short interviews with firm representatives and cover practice areas, practice settings, professionalism, and on-the-job skills. These podcasts are crafted to give students an opportunity to learn more about a subject from practicing attorneys.

Publicity & Marketing Materials

OCS will publicize firm events (including firm hosted multi-school events when appropriate).

Additionally, firms may submit any written or video marketing materials to be uploaded to the Symplicity Employer Resource Library for students. We will accept materials on a rolling basis and upload to Symplicity at any time during the spring semester. To submit materials, please email them to recruiting@law.harvard.edu.

*Please note that materials submitted in the spring and summer of 2026 have been removed from the library.

OCS Publicity will consist of the following:

  • A listing in Symplicity where students RSVP for events (for chats and receptions)
  • A listing on the OCS events and the university calendar (for chats and receptions)
  • Weekly posts on the OCS newsletter for students (for chats, receptions, other firm events and resource library materials)

Individual firm information sessions, coffee chats or networking receptions must comply with Harvard Law School’s non-discrimination policy.

Employers that fail to comply with these policies may not be able to utilize the facilities and services of the Office of Career Services.
