  • Systems Maintenance Notification: Planned Maintenance August 25-29

    Dear Members of the HLS Community,

    ITS will be performing system maintenance this week through early next week at the following times:

    Thursday, August 25th from 10pm until 6am Friday, August 26th

    Affected services: All network file shares

     

    Saturday, August 27th from 8pm until 5am Sunday, August 28th

    Affected services: Agresso (Helios) and Virtual Desktop (VDI)

     

    Sunday, August 28th from 8pm until 5am Monday, August 29th

    Affected services: Group ID (Ad Manager), Paper Cut, EMS, PFAIDS and SFS

     

    Services may be intermittently unavailable during those times.

    Faculty, staff, student, and clinical email systems, as well as the Canvas LMS systems, are exempt from this maintenance window.

  • HLS Network and Systems Maintenance 8/23-8/24/22

    Dear Members of the HLS Community,

    On Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am Wednesday, August 24, 2022, ITS will be performing system maintenance.  The list of services that will be impacted during these hours is at the bottom of this post.

    In addition, HUIT will be conducting routine maintenance to our network infrastructure. During this period wired and wireless network services, as well as phone services, may be intermittently unavailable across the various HLS Campus Buildings, including the Legal Services Center in Jamaica Plain.

    The services will return to normal operation after the maintenance window.  After services are restored, you may need to reboot your device(s) in order to reconnect.

    If you have any questions, or encounter any issues after this maintenance, please contact the HLS ITS Service Desk at (617)495-0722 or through the HLS Services Hub.  The HLS ITS Service Desk will open at 7:00 am on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 to provide help to anyone who has an issue related to this maintenance.

  • Jabber maintenance 8/23 – 8/24/22 – CANCELLED

    Jabber softphone maintenance is planned on Tuesday, August 23, from 10:00PM through 6:00AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

    Jabber users will need to re-login multiple times during the event.  Calls made from Jabber may drop if the service is in use during the maintenance window.

  • Next Scheduled Maintenance

    On Tuesday, June 21st, between 10pm and 6am, HLS ITS will be conducting maintenance to our infrastructure. The following services may be impacted during this time.

    • Listserv (No changes to lists will be allowed after 6:00 PM Tuesday, and the service will be offline from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM)
  • Harvard VoIP Phone Maintenance – June 3 – 6 and June 10-13

    Dear Faculty and Staff,

     

    Verizon will be upgrading the Harvard Phone platform to maintain proper release levels.  This work will be completed over two weekends in June.  The timing and impacts on end-users are listed below.

    The Harvard Phone Portal and voicemail PIN resets will be unavailable during the dates below:

    • Friday, June 3rd starting at 5:00 PM through Monday, June 6th at 8:00 AM
    • Friday, June 10th starting at 5:00 PM through Monday, June 13th at 8:00 AM

    During the June 3rd weekend upgrade all physical phones will re-register four (4) times.  Phones will not function for approximately 3 to 5 minutes while they failover and re-register.  In most instances, active calls will be preserved until the call has ended, and then the phone will perform the failover and re-registration.  Voicemail will not be impacted.

    Jabber users may need to re-login multiple times during the upgrade and may experience call drops during failover.

    During the June 10th weekend upgrade voicemail services will be impacted.  Interruptions are expected to be brief.  Callers may not be able to leave a voicemail.  If voicemails are recording, they may not be delivered to users on time.

    NOTE – There will be no impact on existing voicemail PINs.   However, after the upgrade, “new” voicemail PINs must adhere to new non-trivial rules.    For more information and how to reset your PIN after the upgrade, please see Reset Your Voicemail PIN  KB0018797.
