  • Systems Maintenance Notification: Tuesday, January 31st, between 10pm and 6am

    Dear Members of the HLS Community,

    This is a reminder that ITS will be performing system maintenance on January 31st between 10pm and 6am.

    The following services will be impacted:

  • Jabber Softphone Maintenance January 10-11

    Dear Faculty and Staff,

    On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Harvard Phone maintenance will impact Jabber service.

    During the maintenance window, there will be an estimated 10 minute window when users must sign out and back into Jabber to clear the connection. Also, some Jabber calls in progress may not be preserved and users must log in again to reconnect.

    Please note that physical desk set phone service will not be affected.

  • New MacOS Ventura currently undergoing ITS certification

    Dear HLS Faculty, Staff and Students,

    Apple recently released MacOS Ventura 13.0. ITS is currently certifying this version of the Mac OS to work with standard HLS applications and policies and has restricted this upgrade on HLS Apple computers until the certification process is complete.

    ITS also suggests that students do not upgrade their computers to MacOS Ventura 13.0 until ITS certifies it and verifies that it will work with software such as exam4 and clinical systems.

  • HLS Services Hub Maintenance Saturday, November 5, 2022 starting at 4am

    Dear Members of the HLS Community,

    ITS will be performing ServiceNow system maintenance on 11/05/2022 beginning at 4am.  An email will be sent out when the maintenance has finished.

    The following services will not be available during this maintenance:

    • HLS Services Hub portal – including chat, knowledge base, and support requests
    • ServiceNow backend
    • HR ServiceNow Portal

    If you have any questions about ServiceNow or the HLS Services Hub after this maintenance has been completed, please call the ITS Service Desk at 617-495-0722.

  • Harvard VoIP Phone Maintenance October 8, 2022, 5AM-7AM
    Dear HLS Faculty and Staff,

    Harvard VoIP phone maintenance is planned on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 5:00AM to 7:00AM. During the maintenance event:

    • Physical phone sets will re-register twice within a 15-minute span when services are restarted
    • Third-party devices, including bi-amps (AV), Konftel conference phones, and strobe devices will experience a brief outage when services fail over to the backup server

    Please note that VoIP phone calls in progress, Jabber, and voicemail are not expected to be impacted by this event.

  • Systems Maintenance Notification: Planned Maintenance August 25-29

    Dear Members of the HLS Community,

    ITS will be performing system maintenance this week through early next week at the following times:

    Thursday, August 25th from 10pm until 6am Friday, August 26th

    Affected services: All network file shares

     

    Saturday, August 27th from 8pm until 5am Sunday, August 28th

    Affected services: Agresso (Helios) and Virtual Desktop (VDI)

     

    Sunday, August 28th from 8pm until 5am Monday, August 29th

    Affected services: Group ID (Ad Manager), Paper Cut, EMS, PFAIDS and SFS

     

    Services may be intermittently unavailable during those times.

    Faculty, staff, student, and clinical email systems, as well as the Canvas LMS systems, are exempt from this maintenance window.

  • HLS Network and Systems Maintenance 8/23-8/24/22

    Dear Members of the HLS Community,

    On Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am Wednesday, August 24, 2022, ITS will be performing system maintenance.  The list of services that will be impacted during these hours is at the bottom of this post.

    In addition, HUIT will be conducting routine maintenance to our network infrastructure. During this period wired and wireless network services, as well as phone services, may be intermittently unavailable across the various HLS Campus Buildings, including the Legal Services Center in Jamaica Plain.

    The services will return to normal operation after the maintenance window.  After services are restored, you may need to reboot your device(s) in order to reconnect.

    If you have any questions, or encounter any issues after this maintenance, please contact the HLS ITS Service Desk at (617)495-0722 or through the HLS Services Hub.  The HLS ITS Service Desk will open at 7:00 am on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 to provide help to anyone who has an issue related to this maintenance.
