Episode 11: Patricia Alejandro

Patricia Alejandro

Clinical Instructor- Transactional Law Clinic

After the break from the fire drill Alejandra and I headed back to the studio to finish out conversation.

We talked about the programs at Yale and Harvard dedicated to offer support to students while figuring out their path to the future. We also talked about the good relationships she created while studying in both institutions. I also asked her what motivated her to pursue a career in law.

She mentions the challenges to prepare for the tests at Yale and the advice of a special professor who resonated with her.

After graduation, she took a two year break to work in Washington DC before coming to Boston. Her first impression of Boston was the cold winter in the first year. Then reconnecting with Deanna, and her involvement with the HLS organizations.

At HLS she got more involved with the Program On Negotiation and Mediation Programs. She mentions some conversations with Professor Rakoff and classes taken with Professor Hoffman. After graduating she tried some cooperate work but returned to HLS and chose to work for the Transactional Law Clinic.

She remembers the support from her parents and relatives and their sacrifice to help her to get a good education and how important it was for her to get to where she is now. They are very proud of her and she is very grateful for them.

The goal of this podcast is to introduce folks to HLS staff members from across the community. You may recognize the names of some guests, and if you don’t, that’s okay!  We hope that you will tune in to learn more about your colleagues—what their role is, what makes them tick, and why they do the work that they do at HLS.  If you’re interested in being a guest, please let us know—we would love to hear your story. Our stories bring us together; we come from different backgrounds and serve all different roles, but our shared community at HLS unites us. Let us hear your story!
