John Philip Dawson (1902-1985) served on the Harvard Law School faculty from 1956 to 1985. He was a Visiting Professor of Law 1956-1957; Professor of Law 1957-1961; Charles Stebbins Fairchild Professor of Law 1961-1974; and an Emeritus professor 1974-1985.
