Sam Koolaq is a Lecturer on Law, who serves also as the Director of the Entertainment Law Clinic and the Recording Artists Project at Harvard Law School. Sam joined the Transactional Law Clinics of Harvard Law School as a Clinical Instructor in 2020. In the Spring of 2024, Sam was appointed as a Lecturer to teach a new course, Music Contracts & Negotiations.

Prior to joining the faculty at Harvard Law, Sam founded his own legal practice in Los Angeles, California. In his private practice, Sam provides a range of different legal services, primarily to creative industry individuals and their businesses. Over the years, Sam has developed an expertise in music, copyright/trademark, and general business law.

Sam received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to practice law in California, New York, and Massachusetts.
