Michael Mitchell is a Climenko Fellow and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. He is a scholar of the law and philosophy of democracy.

Michael received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Harvard University. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Tufts University and an A.B. in Social Studies and Philosophy from Harvard College.

Previously, Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Deborah L. Boardman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the Honorable Thomas L. Ambro of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Michael also has served as a senior advisor to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and worked on multiple electoral campaigns. During law school, he worked at Protect Democracy and the Brennan Center for Justice.
