Medha Gargeya

Medha Gargeya is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and a Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division. In the Division’s Front Office, she provides input on legal strategy, reviews briefs, and coordinates across the Department’s leadership on salient litigation. Medha is also a reserve officer in the U.S. Air Force’s Judge Advocate General Corps.

Prior to joining the Department, she served as Associate Counsel to the Vice President. At the White House, Medha advised the Office of the Vice President on oversight, government ethics, compliance, significant judicial decisions, and varied policy issues. Before that, she was an associate at WilmerHale, where she focused on appeals, government and regulatory litigation, and anti-discrimination matters.

Medha graduated from Harvard Law School in 2019 and Harvard College in 2014. She clerked for Judge Roger Wollman on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. During her clerkship, Medha taught art law at the University of South Dakota School of Law. In law school, she was a Heyman Fellow, a Law Fellow with the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, and a resident pre-law and public service tutor at one of Harvard’s undergraduate residential colleges. Before law school, Medha worked at Google and the Tobin Project, and studied at the New England Conservatory.
