Join us for a lunch talk in WCC B015 from 12:30 to 1:20 pm on Friday, April 12th that explores how Charles Flores, an innocent man on Texas Death Row, was convicted and sentenced to death for a murder he did not commit. With absolutely no physical evidence tying him to the crime, Mr. Flores was convicted through prosecutorial misconduct and the hypnosis of a state witness, a practice now banned in Texas.
Charles’s attorney, Gretchen Sween, along with two current Capital Punishment Clinic students will be discussing the case. Gretchen is a solo practitioner who has almost exclusively devoted her career to providing post-conviction representation to people sentenced to death in Texas. This event is also sponsored by La Alianza!
