Mediators and negotiators sometimes forget how powerful and effective it can be to ask the right question at the right time. Well-chosen questions can open people’s hearts and minds. In this webinar, David Hoffman will offer a framework for thinking about what types of questions one might consider asking at different stages of a negotiation. He will also discuss the emotional dimensions of asking questions and how they can harness the power of emotion to communicate awareness of the other party’s goals and interests. During the talk, participants will have an opportunity to post examples of effective – and transformative – questions they have asked in a negotiation.
