Ruth Markel is the mother of the late Dan Markel ’01, a noted law professor who was murdered in Tallahassee, Florida in 2014. The story is about a very high profile “murder for hire” case that has received extensive coverage in print and national TV media in the US and Canada (where the author lives), including Court TV and Dateline. Ruth Markel worked with Florida legislators to enact a Florida Grandparent Rights Act, which passed 6/25/2022
