Wed, Apr 9, 12:30-1:15 pm, on Zoom. Register through CSM (limited to 20 RSVPs, with wait list).
Judge Morgan Christen, from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, is based in Alaska, which makes her one of only a few federal judges authorized to hire non-US citizens for paid clerkships. Before joining the Ninth Circuit, she previously was on the Alaska Supreme Court and Alaska Superior Court.
Hear from this judge about her work and clerking and ask questions in a face-to-face, small group setting. Through your presence, you can express interest that could help you if you choose to apply for her clerkship in the future. Even if you are not interested in working for the particular judge, simply learn more about lawyering, judging, and clerking, which could help you with other judges. Attendees consent through their registration to the program being recorded. Both current students and alumni are welcome. You may eat your lunch while on mute on Zoom.
After graduation, Judge Christen served as a law clerk on the Alaska Superior Court before entering private practice. She then served as a judge on the Alaska Superior Court and a justice on the Alaska Supreme Court before her nomination to a seat on the Ninth Circuit.
Please RSVP in CSM to receive the Zoom link.
