Join HLS Dems, the HLS Antitrust Association, JOLT, and LEAP for a conversation at 2:30PM in WCC 3016 with Samuel Levine HLS ’12, Consumer and Worker Protection Commissioner under Zohran Mamdani’s administration, where he has pledged a far more aggressive approach to corporate accountability in New York City.
Levine previously served as Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, overseeing enforcement, rulemaking, and policy across privacy and data security, digital advertising, financial services, consumer reporting, algorithmic decision-making, and small-business financing.
Before becoming Director, Levine was an attorney advisor to FTC Commissioner Rohit Chopra and a staff attorney in the FTC’s Midwest Regional Office. Prior to joining the FTC, he worked in the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, where he prosecuted predatory for-profit colleges and helped advance policy and rulemaking efforts to promote affordability and accountability in higher education.
