Levine previously s erved as Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Prot ection\, overseeing enforcement\, rulemaking\, and policy across privacy an d data security\, digital advertising\, financial services\, consumer repor ting\, algorithmic decision-making\, and small-business financing.
Be fore becoming Director\, Levine was an attorney advisor to FTC Commissioner Rohit Chopra and a staff attorney in the FTC’s Midwest Regional Office. Pr ior to joining the FTC\, he worked in the Illinois Attorney General’s Offic e\, where he prosecuted predatory for-profit colleges and helped advance po licy and rulemaking efforts to promote affordability and accountability in higher education.
